Itinerary
Day 01 – Delhi | Embarkation & Departure to Sawai Madhopur Your journey of regal discovery begins in Delhi, where you’ll be welcomed with traditional grace at Safdarjung Railway Station. After a seamless check-in, board your private cabin aboard the Deccan Odyssey—a symbol of heritage and understated luxury. As the train departs for Sawai Madhopur, relax into the rhythm of royal travel. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 02 – Ranthambore | Into the Wild Arrive in Sawai Madhopur, gateway to the legendary Ranthambore National Park. Enjoy an early morning game drive through this renowned wildlife sanctuary, home to tigers, leopards, deer, and a myriad of bird species. Return for lunch onboard, then head out for a village tour and high tea at the former royal hunting lodge of the Jaipur royals. As evening falls, rejoin the train and continue toward Agra. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 03 – Agra | The Taj and Mughal Grandeur Welcome to Agra, city of emperors and eternal love. Begin your day with a guided visit to the iconic Taj Mahal, followed by lunch at a luxury hotel. Later, explore the intricate tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, often referred to as the “Baby Taj,” and visit the imposing Agra Fort. Enjoy time to shop for fine local crafts or indulge in a relaxing spa treatment before returning to the train. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 04 – Jaipur | Royal Splendor of the Pink City Arrive in Jaipur, Rajasthan’s vibrant capital. Visit the UNESCO-listed Amber Fort, perched high above Maota Lake, then stop by iconic landmarks such as Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and the City Palace. After lunch at a luxury hotel, enjoy either a spa experience or a stroll through Jaipur’s colorful bazaars, rich in jewelry, textiles, and traditional crafts. Dinner and overnight onboard as the train departs for Udaipur.
Day 05 – Udaipur | Palaces and Lakeside Poetry Begin your day in Udaipur, the romantic "City of Lakes." Visit the grand City Palace and Crystal Gallery, then take a serene boat ride across Lake Pichola to reach Jagmandir Palace, where a royal lunch is served, accompanied by live Tabla and Jal Tarang performances. In the afternoon, enjoy a heritage walk through the old city before returning to the train. Dinner and overnight onboard as the journey continues to Vadodara.
Day 06 – Vadodara | Royal Residences & Artistic Legacy Arrive in Vadodara, capital of the Gaekwad dynasty. Explore the UNESCO-listed Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, an exceptional example of Indo-Islamic architecture. After lunch onboard, visit the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, followed by high tea at Laxmi Vilas Palace, still the royal family’s residence and four times the size of Buckingham Palace. Day 07 – Aurangabad | Ellora Caves After a leisurely morning, the train arrives in Aurangabad. Following lunch onboard, take a scenic drive to the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These magnificent rock-cut temples, representing Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain faiths, are architectural marvels dating back to the 4th–5th centuries AD. In the evening, enjoy a sunset aperitif at Mumbai-Hi Lounge onboard. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 08 – Mumbai | Farewell Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the final stop on your Indian Odyssey. After breakfast onboard, disembark with unforgettable memories of an India seen and felt through royal comfort, cultural depth, and immersive luxury.
