Originally built as a small port in 1851 to support maritime trade, La Romana officially became a city in 1897. It began to thrive two decades later with the construction of a major sugar mill by Italian immigrants.

Day 3 – Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands
Named after a Dutch pirate, this tiny, mountainous island offers stunning views over lapis-blue waters and secluded beaches.
